Debbie Sullivan, PhD, RN, PA-C

Debbie Sullivan is a Physician Assistant who brings more than 23 years of experience to the practice. Debbie’s clinical practice has been in the areas of primary care and emergency medicine. She has worked in diverse settings, including a community hospital in rural southeastern Arizona, and a large 1000-bed urban hospital in western TN that had a 134-bed Emergency Department. Debbie has worked at several Phoenix areas hospitals in Emergency Medicine and also worked at a local freestanding urgent care center.

In addition to her clinical experience in primary care and emergency medicine, Debbie was a faculty member at a local university for more than 12 years, where she was a founding member of the Physician Assistant program and taught various courses in the curriculum. She achieved the rank of Associate Professor and was awarded tenure. After eight years as a faculty member in the PA program, Debbie served as the Director of Assessment for the medical school, overseeing testing for second and third year medical students, and teaching courses in the second year medical school curriculum. Debbie received multiple awards during her tenure at the University for Excellence in teaching and professional mentoring. She was recognized nationally for scholarly activity and has been published in national PA journals. She is also the author of several medical textbooks.

Debbie received a Bachelor of Science degree in PA Studies from Trevecca University in Nashville, TN. She was awarded a Master of Science degree in Advanced PA Studies from Finch University at the Chicago School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. Debbie also earned a doctorate degree in Adult Education from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.

In her spare time, Debbie enjoys spending time with her husband and their four cats, hiking, reading, scrapbooking and card making. She enjoys baseball, playing Scrabble and collecting jigsaw puzzles when traveling.
